Vintage Transitional Cut Diamond Ring

Stunning 18ct White Vintage Diamond ring. The ring features a Natural Round Transitional cut diamond in saw pierced filigree setting. The setting features scalloped cut aways with six delicate little double claws securing the feature stone. The band is a swept-up style with engraved shoulder plates cut with little rosettes. The shoulder is supported with a chenier which was common for the period. The shank is half round in profile.

Transitional cut Diamonds were cut for a few decades in the early 1900’s and are a blend of a modern brilliant cut top and older cutting styles on the bottom. These cuts evolved over time to become the modern brilliant cut we see today. The most beautiful thing about this gem is the simple flower design that is created in the gem when viewed from the top coupled with the gentle tinted colour of the natural gem. The creates a stunningly beautiful masterpiece that is extremely unique and unlikely to be seen again.

This ring is brand new old stock from a retired jeweller we did commercial trade work for over many years.  A very special treasure we can resize to suit your requirements.
